Love and Fame Dress
A new sophisticated style from our fave design-genius Carlie Ballard. This beautiful piece features a tailored waist and front darts, providing a perfect balance between comfort and style.
The dress is 3/4 length, has coconut buttons down the front and a V neckline to the back.
Made using Carlie's signature 100% handwoven fabric, this thick cream yarn is dyed using azo free dyes and then handwoven in the village of Telangana, India. This style has small cotton seed flakes throughout reflecting the raw nature of the yarn.
- Made from 100% handwoven cotton
- Fabric woven in and garment sewn in southern India
- True to size - a tailored yet slightly relaxed fit. Model wears a size 8. (I'm a 10 top and 12 bottom and wear the size 12 in this dress, on account of my tush!).
Cold gentle-machine wash using mild eco-friendly soap.
Do not bleach, soak or tumble dry.
Hang dry in shade.
More about Carlie Ballard
Carlie Ballard is an incredibly-transparent Australian fashion brand advocating for ethical and sustainable practices, and quality, independent design. Carlie, based in New South Wales, is a founding director of the Clean Cut Fashion Association, Australia’s ethical and sustainable fashion association.
Carlie’s collections are trans-seasonal, easy to wear, and exceptionally tailored. Each garment is made using individually dyed yarns and traditional wooden hand looms, powered by master artisans in Southern India. You can feel and see the love and artistry in each piece.
Garments are sewn in a small NGO workshop in Lucknow India, which provides training, excellent working conditions and fair pay to the women it employs.
Carlie Ballard is also a low-waste brand. She avoids the use of unnecessary hardware, uses all biodegradable packaging and orders small quantities of fabric at a time, minimising fabric waste and often making to order (for businesses like us!).
